After graduating with honors from Wellesley College and magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law (where she served on the law review), Barbara joined Pillsbury Madison & Sutro in San Francisco where she became the employee benefits group’s managing partner and was elected to the firm’s seven-member executive committee. In 1997, Barbara moved her practice to the San Francisco employee benefits boutique law firm Trucker Huss APC. For many years Barbara was named on the lists of the Best Lawyers in America and California Superlawyers. Barbara became an inactive member of the California State Bar in 2019. During her career Barbara was a popular speaker on employee benefits topics for many professional groups. She also was an active participant in many professional organizations including the American Bar Association Section of Taxation and the Western Pension and Benefits Conference. Barbara has been a member of the boards of several charitable and nonprofit organizations, frequently serving as board chair.
