Barbara Creed practiced law in San Francisco for over 40 years, specializing in employee benefits.
After graduating with honors from Wellesley College and magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law (where she served on the law review), Barbara joined Pillsbury Madison & Sutro in San Francisco where she became the employee benefits group’s managing partner and was elected to the firm’s seven-member executive committee. In 1997, Barbara moved her practice to the San Francisco employee benefits boutique law firm Trucker Huss APC. For many years Barbara was named on the lists of the Best Lawyers in America and California Superlawyers. Barbara became an inactive member of the California State Bar in 2019.
During her career Barbara was a popular speaker on employee benefits topics for many professional groups. She also was an active participant in many professional organizations including the American Bar Association Section of Taxation and the Western Pension and Benefits Conference.
Barbara has been a member of the boards of several charitable and nonprofit organizations, frequently serving as board chair. Most recently, she chaired the 25-member board of trustees of the $14B Church Pension Group, a diversified financial services organization providing pensions and other benefits to the clergy and lay employees of the Episcopal Church in the United States and many countries in Central and South America and the Caribbean.
